Becoming a college athlete is not an impossible dream. I was under the impression that Athletic Directors and Coaches actively marketed their players to colleges; this is not always the case. Parents need to get involved to ensure your student will be noticed. Roughly 1% of college athletes are recruited by college scouts yet 99% of athletes are virtually lost in the masses. There are 1700 colleges that are looking for college athletes and with high school grades at or above 3.0 and SAT scores at or above 1200, the dream of scholarship money and becoming a NCAA athlete can become a reality.
